The gun salute was given as a mark of honour to the martyrs, where the Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal, other police officers and the relatives of the martyrs were present.
Deepak Vighave, Sunil Madavi, Rohan Dambare, Subhash Kumre, Tirupati Allam, Laxman Munde and Duryodhan Naktode, were killed in the landmine blast, which also left two other policemen injured.
After the ceremony, the bodies were returned to the relatives and were taken back to their respective places for cremation.
