Police officer's husband found dead
The body of Nilotpal Lahon, husband of Guwahati City Additional Superintendent of Police Leena Doley, was found inside a SUV parked on the hills late last night.
The locals spotted the vehicle with the deceased on the driving seat, holding a pistol in his hand and with blood oozing from his forehead.
Guwahati City Senior Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari said preliminary investigation indicated it to be a case of suicide as there was a pistol in the hand of the deceased but further investigations were on to ascertain the exact cause of the death.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed Chief Secretary N K Das to inquire into the incident.
Lahon was the son of former Congress MLA from Lakhimpur, Lekhon Lahon and was serving as the Area Manager with Tata Motors in Guwahati.
