Police seizes fake currency worth Rs 31.70 lakh

Fake Indian currency notes (FICN), having face value of Rs 31.70 lakh, have been seized and two persons allegedly involved in printing of notes have been arrested in a raid at Lopon village in the district, police said today.
Police has also recovered a printing machine alongwith printers and a computer.
The raid was conducted at the residence of one Sukhpal Singh on a tip off held last night, in which Singh and Ravi Khan were arrested while the alleged kingpin Kuldeep Singh, Gyan Chand and Sandeep Singh managed to escape, police said.
The FICNs are of Rs 1000 denomination, they said, adding a hunt has been launched for the absconders.
