According to police sources, the notice was served at Mani's house at Kunchithanni in the district.
The High Court had yesterday dismissed his petition seeking to quash FIRs registered against him in three cases over his speech on elimination of political foes.
District secretary of CPI(M) for long, Mani was removed from the key party post by the party after his controversial speech caused it a huge embarrassment.
Police had earlier this month registered FIRs against him and summoned for questioning in connection with some of the past cases of political murder, he declined to do so on the ground that his plea was pending in the High Court.
