Sridhar, who had been drawn for bandobast duty as part of security arrangements in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, allegedly shot himself on his chest with his service revolver, they said.
"He was drawn for bandobast duty. Last night he was on duty and he allegedly committed suicide this morning," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad Zone) P V Padmaja told PTI.
"As part of bandobast duty he came to city on November 23. He was found dead near an apartment by a policeman who was scheduled to take over duty this morning," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Rajendra Nagar) K Ganga Reddy said.
Further probe is on.
