Senior CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjaan has expressed serious concern over the ongoing debate on surgical strikes in PoK and asked politicians and the media to exercise restraint in using language which can be misinterpreted.
"The media and politicians should exercise restraint in using language which can be interpreted differently or has double meaning," he told reporters here last night.
"As the BJP is in power, the responsibility of its leaders is more than others... It is not the time to chalk out election strategy and BJP should desist from doing so," he said, adding his party was with the central government and the army on the issue as the national interest was supreme for it.
Expressing his displeasure over the ongoing debate on the electronic media, Anjaan said they have created a war-like atmosphere in the country.
The CPI leader said the manner in which debates are being held on TV news channels on security preparedness of the country, various operational details are being made public. The Pakistani media has never made their country's secret mission public, he added.
To a question on demands to make the evidence of strike public, Anjaan said when all political parties have lent their support to the army and the central government, it should be left to them (central government) to counter the false propaganda and bring out the truth before the people.
