Sangma, however, termed the allegations as baseless.
"If the chief minister is really terming the allegation as baseless, I don't think he should worry about NIA investigation," NPP spokesman James K Sangma said today.
"It (NIA probe) will set the record straight and bring about clarity in the whole situation and will establish that Meghalaya does not have politico-militant nexus," he added.
Claiming that similar allegations were made by a former ANVC(B) leader two years ago, James said that NPP has time and again demanded that politico-militant nexus be investigated by the NIA.
He said that the party was not in favour of an investigation into it by state police to avoid doubts.
