NCP leader Praful Patel was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for nearly 12 hours on Friday in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the alleged illegal assets of late Iqbal Mirchi, an aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Patel, a former Union minister in the UPA regime, emerged out of the ED office at Ballard Estate in South Mumbai around 10.30 pm.

He had arrived at the office at 10.30 in the morning.

After a day-long questioning, senior ED officials left the office around 6.30 pm, but Patel's questioning by the investigating officer continued, an official of the central agency had said earlier.
