Prerna Puri named PS to Birender Singh; Mehta OSD to Gehlot

IAS officer Prerna Puri has been appointed as the private secretary to Union Minister Birender Singh.
Puri, a 2006-batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa- Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, has been appointed for a period of five years or for duration coterminous with the tenure of the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said in the order.
Her appointment is effective from November 11, it said.
Meanwhile, Pankaj Kumar Mehta, a 1999-batch Madhya Pradesh civil service officer, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty to Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot.

Also, V Ponnuraj and Abhijit Sinha, both 2000-batch IAS officers, have been appointed as PS to Law and Justice Minister DV Sadananda Gowda and Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha on lateral shift basis, DoPT said.
Ponnuraj and Sinha were appointed as PS to the ministers when they held different portfolios.
