The visit on May 6-7 is taking place at the invitation of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Foreign Office has said that Gayoom will hold talks with Sharif and also meet President Mamnoon Hussain who will hold a state banquet in the honour of visiting dignitary.
"During the visit, Pakistan and Maldives will review all important aspects of their bilateral relations. A number of documents on cooperation in sports, health, education and illicit drugs and narcotics trafficking, will also be signed," the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The relations are based on mutual trust, common faith and understanding, the statement said.
Pakistan and Maldives have been actively cooperating with each other at the regional level and at the multilateral fora.
Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the Maldives, it said.
