Prez Mukherjee pays tribute to Rabindra Nath Tagore

President Pranab Mukherjee today paid tribute to Nobel laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore here, describing him as a great believer of human liberty.
Mukherjee, who is on a five-day visit to Russia, visited the Park Drujbe (park of friendship) where the noted poet's statue is located, garlanded it and remembered Tagore's contribution towards literature and society.
"Tagore was great poet and a great believer of human liberty," the president told the audience.
Today is the birth anniversary of Tagore according to the Bengali calendar.
