'Ishkq in Paris' director Prem Raj Soni, who has recovered from cancer, can't stop praising his producer Priety Zinta, for standing by him through his rough patch.
Soni's father passed away last year and then his own health came under weather.
'Ishkq in Paris', billed as Preity Zinta's comeback film was earlier indefinitely postponed partly due to Soni's illness. It will finally hit screens later this month.
Soni is deeply grateful to the actress, who stood by him through thick and thin, and postponed the release of the film.
He reportedly flew to UK in September-October last year for surgery while battling cancer of the gall bladder.
"We could have released the film but I was going through the ordeal of my life, and she felt it wasn't the right time. Preity insisted we will not release the film without me as we started this journey together. It was very brave act. Her support means a lot to me. She is a good friend," he said at the event here.
Soni is relieved that the film is releasing on May 24. He feels 'Ishkq In Paris' has turned out to be very beautiful.
"There are always good times after bad times, and the bad times are over. I am feeling sad that I had to go through all this," he said.
"This film is very special for me and Priety. I went through lot of things but learnt as well. She has helped me a lot," he said.
Soni made his debut with Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Main Aur Mrs Khanna'.
