Some of the Congress MPs from Telangana region, who have been invited by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to join his outfit, may rise to the bait depending on party leadership's response to separate statehood demand.
"Parliament session is going start soon. We (Telangana Congress MPs) have decided to pursue our demand for separate state (with the Congress leadership) once again. How to achieve Telangana, what is the most appropriate way for that is our priority," Congress MP G Vivek said today.
Chandrasekhar Rao had recently extended the invitation to the Telangana Congress MPs to join the sub-regional party.
He also met senior Congress leader from the region K Keshav Rao here, giving credence to speculation that some of the Telangana Congress MPs might switch over to TRS.
Telangana Congress MPs have been vocal in raising the separate statehood demand and are miffed with party leadership for not acceding to it.
The MPs have been holding consultations among themselves over the matter even though the state Congress leadership is trying to prevent any desertions.
With the TRS appears to encouraging poaching from other parties, a TDP MLA from Karimnagar district has announced his decision to join TRS yesterday.
The TRS move came under criticism from Congress and TDP leaders who described it as "a sign of weakness of the Telangana party".
Defending the migrations from other parties, TRS MLA K T Rama Rao said that there was nothing new in political leaders crossing over from one party to another.
He claimed even those who are neutral to separate statehood issue are also joining the TRS.
