The company's project manager Niron Kumar Mahajan was abducted near Hathikhuli under Langting police station this morning by unidentified miscreants, they said.
The construction company was engaged in widening of a four-lane project between Hatikhuli and Mandadisa.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and a massive search operation has been launched to rescue the 48-year-old manager.
In another incident, four persons were arrested for allegedly extorting money from tea garden authorities by posing as ULFA militants from Dholla in Tinsukia district.
