"A high power committee of the state government in a meeting held at Mumbai yesterday, approved installation of CCTV cameras in Nashik and has asked city police to consult the Information Technology department by submitting a Detailed Project Report (DPR)," an official from city police said.
The CCTV installation will aid police to keep an eye on crimes and criminals and also to regulate traffic.
The project in Nashik worth Rs 95 crores has plans for installation of 1002 cameras across 318 locations in the city, said the official.
