Proposals under MNREGA would be sanctioned soon : Ramesh

Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has assured Arunachal Pradesh that proposals under the MNREGA schemes which were submitted to his ministry would be immediately sanctioned.
Ramesh, during a meeting with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki yesterday assured to sanction the schemes related to the Integrated Wastelands Development Programme (IWDP) on receipt of proposals from the state government, official sources said here today.
Tuki, who submitted a slew of proposals to the ministry also discussed projects related to rural development in the state in the coming financial year.
The CM also briefed Ramesh about the steps taken by the state to hasten the process of submission of projects to the ministry in order to ensure the timely implementation of the various schemes under rural development.
Ramesh said that he would also increase the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) allocation for the benefit of the Puroik community of the state.
Ramesh also informed the chief minister that the Miao-Vijaynagar Road would be sanctioned in the forthcoming meeting of the concerned committee shortly and that he would visit Vijaynagar on June 1 next.
Earlier, Tuki called on Union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Kumari Selja, and sought the help of her ministry for enhancing the drug de-addiction centres of the state and broadening of physical infrastructure for senior citizens.
The CM appealed to Selja to establish a sub-centre of the nationally renowned Deen Dayal Upadhaya Institute of Physically Handicapped in the state for the benefit of those people.
