Riding on the success of Force, his last mainstream genre film themed on differently abled children, superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee today joined the 'Share a story' campaign, exhorting his countless fans to donate books for the underprivileged.
"Force highlights the cause of the specially gifted children, who need more empathy and recognition than what they get. We now wish to spread the campaign through other platforms," Prosenjit, having enacted the father of a cricket crazy child in 'Chalo Paltai' six years back, said.
Asking those frequenting the 'Story', which is hosting the campaign, to pledge one or more books at the donation basket, Prosenjit said, "Sharing means caring. Sharing means spreading the joy of learning."
"Me, wife and Force co-actor Arpita, Director Raja (Chanda) as well as everybody else in the team will do our bit to make this campaign successful," Prosenjit said.
'Share a Story' is a weeklong initiative to encourage children and grown ups to donate books for the underprivileged and deprived children of the city. The initiative also aims to provide an opportunity of reading books to children who may not have the fortune of poring over pages of neawly bought titles - story books and text ones both," Sidharth Pansari, chief story teller, said.
