Peeved at shortage of teachers, girl students along with members of a Gram Panchayat locked the gate of a government school here today.
The protesters also staged a sit-in outside the senior secondary school for girls located in Talu village, some 20-km from here.
The students threatened to continue their protest till teachers were appointed in the school.
Students claimed there was shortage of teachers in the school for the past two years.
Block Education Officer Takdeer Singh Grewal reached the scene and assured them that the issue would be resolved soon.
