Provide relief to flood and drought-hit people:BJP state chief

BJP State President Prahlad Joshi today urged the Karnataka state government to provide relief to the people of the flood and drought hit districts of Northern Karnataka.
In a statement here, he said the natural calamities in recent days had destroyed crops covering an area of over 2 lakh hectares. Over 10,000 houses had also collapsed in various incidents in the north districts of the state.
The Government had not taken any steps even after a huge damage was caused to people and property and had not convened a meeting of the Natural Calamity Committee in such a situation, he alleged.
