A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here.
"The budget session would commence on July 15 afternoon at 2 pm with obituary references and the budget for 2014-15 would be presented in this session," a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said.
The Cabinet also took a serious view of employees being transferred throughout the year.
Administrative Secretaries of the department concerned would be held responsible if any transfer was made after the stipulated deadline, he said.
The Cabinet also approved the services rules of Punjab Soil and Water Conservation Department, Intelligence Cadre (Group C) and State Election Commission Punjab (Group A).
In an employee friendly decision, the Cabinet gave approval to withdraw the amendment to the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 which provided that if any government employee does not vacate the government residence even after the receipt of notice, then it would be considered as non-bailable offence.
The Board would take funds directly from the National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad to use it judiciously for encouraging fish farming in the state, the spokesperson said.
