Punjab finance department starts work online

Taking a step forward towards paperless administration and release of funds to various other departments, the finance department of Punjab started working online from today.
Disclosing this here today, state finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said as training process to all officials and employees has been completed, the department is now accepting only online fund proposals from other departments.
Earlier district treasuries had started online payments to all beneficiaries from April 1, 2013, he said.
It was also decided that henceforth no physical files would be received and necessary instruction has been issued by the government to all departments, the minister added.
