In a bid to stop cheating in the state's technical education exams, the Punjab government has instructed authorities to set up flying squad teams.
Annual exams are about to start in all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnics of the state and the department has resolved to check coying in these exams, said Anil Joshi, the state Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, in a press communique issued here today.
Authorities have been instructed to set up flying squad teams, which will conduct surprise raids in examination centres, he said.
"If any case of copying comes up, the principal of the institution will also be held responsible and departmental action will be taken against him," Joshi said.
He appealed to students to shun the practice of copying in examinations.
