Punjab govt to review deaths due to dengue

Punjab government will soon start review of deaths due to dengue in the state, an official said here today.
Every suspected death of a dengue patient is reviewed by the committee's of the experts, initially at district level under the chairmanship of Civil Surgeon and thereafter at the state level under the Chairmanship of Director Health Services of the state, she added.
The basic purpose of dengue death review was to find out the exact number of deaths attributed to dengue or related events and also to know the exact cause of death if the death was due to dengue, she said.

The findings of the review of the dengue deaths are used for sensitization of doctors in Government as well as Private setup in order to decrease the mortality due to dengue.
