Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today condemned the alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.
The chief secretary was allegedly assaulted by a few AAP legislators at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence during a meeting last night.
The chief minister's office, however, dismissed the accusation as "bizarre and baseless".
"I don't want to get into individual cases. I have been a civil servant for over 40 years and I have never seen such a behaviour (with an IAS officer).
"I am speaking at a personal level... This type of behaviour should be condemned in the strongest terms," the Housing and Urban Affairs minister told reporters.
The central IAS officers' association has termed as "criminal" the alleged assault and demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
