A delegation private bus operators under the banner of Punjab Motor Union led Avtar Henry today met Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar and submitted a memorandum of demands.
R S Bajwa, Secretary, Punjab Motor Union (PMU) said private bus operators have demanded reduction in motor vehicle tax from Rs 3.13 per km to Rs 2 per km, in the wake of rising input cost including diesel prices and other incidental charges.
The Minister said the SAD-BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was committed to protect the interests of all the sections of the society, an official release said.
