To recover electricity bills, the PVVNL has launched naming and shaming of defaulters whose dues run into thousands of rupees, an official said today.
"The names of the first top 10 defaulters will be published in newspapers and pamphlets will be affixed in their colonies," Pashimanchal Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) chief engineer S K Gupta said.
This will continue till the defaulter makes the payment. Recovery certificates will be issued to them and the revenue department will recover the arrears, the officer said.
Gupta said the name and shame drive has been launched in 23 divisions in Hapur and Buland Shahar districts.
