PMK leader Dr Ramadoss today said that the People's Welfare Front led by MDMK leader Vaiko would "never succeed" in forming a government after the coming elections in Tamil Nadu even if DMDK,the main opposition party, joined them.
Likening the PWF to DMK, "which is a tree that has withered," he said the Vaiko led front could "never form" the government in the state.
"DMK is a tree that has withered. The tree is dead and it will not come back to life. Similarly Vaiko's front also can never form government even if DMDK joins them," he said.
He claimed that PMK had proved his ability when it was part of the Central government and expressed confidence that PMK would come to power in 2016.
On the Mullaperiyar dam issue, he criticised Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for claiming that the dam was weak when experts had certified it as strong and that it could hold water upto 152 feet.
Chandy was only trying to create tension by making false statements, he alleged.
He demanded that the Tamil Nadu government provide 'proper relief' immediately to people in flood affected districts, including Tuticorin and Tirunelveli and also in Chennai, Thiruvellore and Kancheepuram, where people could not go to work for several days.
Ramadoss also criticised the CBI raid at Delhi Chief Minister Arvin Kejriwal's office. "PMK condemns the act of CBI" he said.
The PMK leader demanded a probe into the 'granite quarry scam' in Tamil Nadu, alleging that granite worth Rs 1.06 lakh crore had been looted. No action had been taken though a report had been submitted to the government, he said.
He demanded that the Central government, which was showing keen interest in GST, bring forward an ordinance for organizing 'Jallikattu' (taming of the bull) sports, which was banned by the Supreme Court, in Tamil Nadu during the Pongal festival in January.
