"It is amply clear that BJD is terrified after the success of Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Odisha. Failures and misrule of Naveen Patnaik government were thoroughly exposed by Rahulji," Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Prasad Harichandan told reporters here.
Stating that the secret understanding between BJD and BJP was also exposed during Rahul Gandhi's visit, Harichandan said in a panic reaction and a desperate bid to mislead the people, BJD has now started speaking about negligence of the state by the NDA regime.
Harichandan was speaking after a meeting of office bearers of OPCC which was attended by AICC general secretary in-charge of Odisha BK Hariprasad.
The PCC president said the state government has failed on all fronts. Though the state was reeling under severe drought, the Naveen government is yet to wake up and take concrete steps to deal with the situation and mitigate the plight of farmers.
School students were deprived of learning as teachers were agitating for a long time due to utter indifference and apathy on the part of the state government towards their problems, Harichandan said.
Maintaining that Congress would continue to fight for the poor and underprivileged people, the PCC chief said the party would organise 'Padyatras' from the first week of October against BJD's dismal show.
On the PCC office bearers' meeting, he said as part of exercise to strengthen the organisation one vice president and a general secretary would be given charge of a lok sabha and assembly seat respectively.
