Rain gives relief to people from heat

Rain in Patna and other parts of Bihar dipped temperature considerably today much to the relief of citizens who got reprieve from grueling heat.
Capital Patna recorded 56.3 mm rain in past 24 hours, state MeT office said.
The temple town of Gaya witnessed 91.4 mm rain while it was 76.1 mm in Bhagalpur and 17.8 mm in Purnea, they said.
Temperature dropped considerably in the state.
Patna had a maximum temperature of 28.6 degrees Celsius, the state Weather office said.
Gaya registered maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees Celsius while it was 27.7 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur and 30.7 degrees Celsius in Purnea, they added.

The Weather office forecast generally cloudy sky with moderate rain in Patna and other cities of the state.

The rain though brought welcome relief for citizens but in many areas of the state capital residents faced problem of waterlogging.
Rain has also triggered threat of flood in some parts of the state prompting NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) to deploy its team in Gopalganj and Darbhanga today.
The NDRF team is already stationed at Muzaffarpur, Supual and Deedarganj in Patna district in view of chances of flood.
