Rain, thundershowers bring down temperature in parts of UP

Rain and thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh's eastern and western region giving some respite from heat.
Both Gorakhpur and Hata received 1 cm rain yesterday, the MeT office said.
Day temperatures today markedly rose in Faizabad, Bareilly divisions and appreciably rose in Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Agra divisions. It rose in Jhansi division but changed a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
Banda with maximum temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius was the hottest in the state, the MeT department said, adding day temperature was below normal in Gorakhpur and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.

Weather is likely to remain dry over the next couple of days, MeT forecast said.
