Rains bring down heat wave in Rajasthan

Barring a few places, heat wave conditions subsided in Rajasthan today due to influx of moisture from Arabian sea and rainfall in many places in Haduati and tribal areas.
Though heat wave conditions persisted in north-west of Rajasthan as Churu recorded the maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius followed by Sriganganagar 43, Bikaner 42.8 degree Celsius.
Due to influx of moisture arising from Arabian sea, low to moderate rains occurred in Hadauti and tribal belts of Banswara and Dungarpur in last 24 hours.
Hindon and Karauli recorded a maximum rainfall of 6 cms each followed by Mandrayal, Bari and Sawaimadhopur 5 cms each, Deeg 4 cm, Govindgarh, Mandrayal 3 cms, and one to 2 cms at many places, the Met official said.
Sweating Jaipurites also got a respite from hot and humid above 60 per cent in the evening as scattered rains occurred in the city. The city recored a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.
"It is not a pre-monsoon rains in Rajasthan as only the moisture level causing rains in parts of the state. The actual SW monsoon would arrive by July first probably, or may come early if the existing system continued for a week more," a state Met official BN Vishnoi told PTI.
Dust storm or squall can hit the parts of Rajasthan in next 24 hours causing precipitation, a forecast said.
