Rains drench Delhi, cripple traffic movement

Heavy rains drenched the city today, leading to a drop in the maximum temperature, but fed the prevailing sultry conditions.
Traffic movement was disrupted at major intersections, including Dhaula Kuan and ITO, in the city due to the problem of waterlogging.
The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 33 and 26.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, while humidity levels soared to 97 per cent.
The Safdarjung observatory gauged 29.6 mm of rains, while Palam observatory got 0.8 mm of precipitation.
The weatherman has warned of heavy rains tomorrow evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
