Hari Singh Meena, a resident of Aterampura village in Bharatpur district, was arrested yesterday from Gumapur area by ACB team of Kota for demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 to shield Jagdish Vaishnav's parents in a dowry case registered against all three of them, Ramesh Chand Arya, Inspector at ACB, Kota Special Unit, said.
Jagdish's brother, Om Prakash Viashnav, had in November 2011 filed a complaint with the ACB, which then laid a trap but failed to arrest Meena. However, a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the IPC in January 2012 and probe started, he said.
Taking cognisance of the matter, the court has granted deparmental sanction for prosecution against Meena, who is currently suspended, Arya said.
