The Rajasthan Cabinet today cleared a proposal to create a new Department of skill and employment for providing training and job opportunities to eligible youths in the state.
"Works under the Apprentice Act will be taken up by the new department which will be headed by an IAS officer. Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation, employment exchange and ITIs have been incorporated into the new department," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
He said that CM Vasundhara Raje during her 'Suraj Sankalp Yatra' before the assembly elections had promised 15 lakh jobs in five year and this department will act as a nodal department to fulfill that promise.
The minister said that the government would also provide opportunities of government service and a calendar for the same would be launched in coming days.
"ITIs will work to make 8th pass candidate employable. A candidate who has passed 8th standard examination will be given admission to 2-year course and after completion of the course, the candidate's qualification will be considered equivalent to 10th standard," he said.
Chaired by CM Raje, the Cabinet also endorsed the former government's decisions to set up three agriculture universities in Jodhpur, Jobner and Kota.
He informed that on the first day of a campaign to clear pending cases in revenue courts, 14,000 cases were disposed of yesterday and the government aims to clear half of the 2 lakh pending cases in revenue course under the campaign named 'Nyay Apke Dwar.'
When asked about the shifting of a tiger from Ranthambore National Park to Sajjangarh biological park in Udaipur on Saturday, Rathore said that forest minister Rajkumar Rinwa was well aware of the decision.
The tiger, who killed a forest guard recently in Ranthambore National Park, was shifted to Sajjangarh Biological Park to provide him another territory.
