The state Scheduled Area Development Minister Nandlal Meena yesterday gave away the cash prizes and the two-wheelers to the students of tribal areas at a function organized by Maniykya Verma Aadim Caste Research and Training Institute here, an official said.
A team was constituted to make changes in residential schools-cum-hostels in the state for which it will study similar establishments of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, Meena said.
A biometric system was also set up in Tribal residential hostel here on a trial basis, and if this works successfully the state government would consider installing such systems in other places too, the minister said.
Meena also asked the tribal area development commissioner to provide sports facilities in these schools.
