Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot today said the BJP government in the state had finally accepted that farmers had committed suicide during its rule.
His remark came after Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria earlier in the day claimed that no farmer had committed suicide in the state due to debt between 2009 and 2017, and said only three peasants killed themselves in 2015.
Over 90 farmers have committed suicide in the state due to the government's apathy and betrayal, he alleged, adding that accepting only three deaths indicates that the current dispensation is turning a blind eye on farmers' suicides.
