Rajasthan govt raises road cess on petrol, diesel by 25 paise

The Rajasthan government has raised the road cess on petrol and diesel by 25 paise to Rs 1.25 per litre.
Road cess has been raised from Re one to Rs 1.25 per litre on petrol and diesel, and the order was effected yesterday, said a senior official of Public Works Department here.
In first term of the Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government in 2003-2008, road cess on petrol and diesel was hiked by 50 paise.
While, in the second term, in last 22 months, it was raised by 50 paise earlier, and now 25 paise, the official added.
