Raje encourages students' involvement in social causes

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today encouraged the involvement of students in social causes, saying it would create consciousness among youngsters and inspire others.
At 'Skilling and Knowhow Initiatives for Lifelong Leadership Development (SKILLD)' programme where students of three schools exhibited their presentations on various themes, Raje said involving students voluntarily in programmes like cleanliness and adult education will create consciousness among youngsters.
When students come forward for any social cause, it leaves impact on others and inspires them to do good, she said.
The programme was organised by Global Education and Leadership Foundation (GELF), which runs similar programmes in 13 countries across the world.
In India, this programme is being run in 16 states and is available in 9 languages.
Raje lauded the initiative and said such programmes are helpful in creating leadership skills among school children.
CEO of GELF, Gowri Ishwaran in her presentation on SKILLD programme said that it focuses on cultivating values, life skills and leadership amongst students.
She suggested that such programmes could be adopted in government schools of Rajasthan, to which Raje asked concerned officials to take necessary action.
Manu Chaturvedi and Vidhi Khandelwal of Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School, Jaipur, gave a presentation on their project related to 'Girl Child Education'. Both had worked at Bhangarh Kalan village for the project.
In their presentation on 'Swachch Jaipur' project, Drishti Agarwal and Taranjot Bahal of MGD School, Jaipur, showed how to create awareness about waste management and sanitation among people of Kathputali Nagar slum area through Quiz, Games and Nukkad Nataks.
Aayush Singh and Chetanya Godara of DPS Jaipur presented on Adult Education Programme for school bus drivers.
Minister of State for Education Vasudev Devnani, MP Dushyant Singh, Chief Secretary C S Rajan, Principal Secretary (Elementary Education) P K Goyal, Secretary (Secondary Education) Nareshpal Gangwar, Director of Global Education and Leadership Foundation Dinu Raheja, Director, Jai Shri Periwal Group of Schools, Jai Shri Periwal were present on this occasion.
