BJP president Rajnath Singh today launched "BJYM Campus Ambassador" programme aimed at connecting with youth, and asked party's youth wing activists to do clean politics.
Singh, while speaking at the launch of the programme, said authenticity is the greatest asset in political life.
Speaking at the occasion, BJYM president Anurag Thakur said it is first such campaign in the country aimed at youth awareness and empowerment.
"BJYM aims to select 5,000 Youth Ambassadors from across 20 states of India with an outreach to 2 million students (20 lakh). Our target audience belongs to the Tier 1, 2, 3 cities and rural India," he said.
Thakur said it will provide them a common platform to voice their opinion about issues such as democracy, policy making, political leadership, socio-economic development.
"The BJYM Campus Ambassador Program (CAP) will select a group of highly motivated, smart and socio-politically aware young leaders. The Campus Ambassadors will also give inputs and feedback which will be incorporated in our National Youth Policy," he said.
The programme beginning today will involve the youth in Voter Registration/Awareness Drive of "VOTE for INDIA", run "Modi Cafe" and provide inputs in formulating a National Youth Policy "For the Youth, By the Youth".
They will be empowered to reach out and create political awareness, discuss issues concerning the youth amongst the students in their campus.
The BJP president also launched a website of Campus Ambassadors and a twitter handle.
