Home Minister Rajnath Singh today visited former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand N D Tiwari, who was admitted in a hospital here, and enquired about his health.
The 92-year-old leader, who was also a former governor of Andhra Pradesh and a former Union minister, had been ailing and was under treatment.
"Visited a pvt hospital in New Delhi to inquire about the health of senior leader and former CM of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Shri ND Tiwari ji. I pray for his speedy recovery (sic)," Singh tweeted.
Tiwari was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice between 1976 and 1989 and the chief minister of Uttarakhand from 2002 to 2007.
Singh was also a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
