Ranchi look to continue winning run, eye top spot in table

Having secured a berth in the semifinals of the Hero Hockey India League, Ranchi Rays will look to continue their winning run when they take on Delhi Waveriders here tomorrow.
Placed second in the table, Ranchi Rays will aim for a win tomorrow with an intention to ascend to the top of the chart, while Delhi Waveriders, fourth in the list, would be looking to strengthen their position in the league with nothing less than a victory.
Last time Ranchi and Delhi met, the match was drawn 2-2. While it was the Waveriders, who had opened the game well, but the Rays came back strongly.
The Ranchi outfit has dished out some brilliant and consistent performance in the previous games and it intends to carry on with similar energy and zeal.
The captain of Ranchi Rays, Ashley Jackson is currently the joint top scorer of the League, with a total of eight goals. He will be aiming to add a few more to his tally and continue to inspire his boys.
Delhi Waveriders, on the other hand, posted only a couple of wins from seven matches and will play the next game with an objective to improve their standing and gain the additional five points.
Led by Indian skipper Sardar Singh, Delhi will be banking on playing on their home turf.
The team has worked on their attacking strategies and circle penetration, which was evident in their last match against the Kalinga Lancers at Bhubaneswar, and are a better, improved side in the League now.
