Bablu, 20, was arrested from the town yesterday, a day after the matter was reported to the Delhi Police, an officer said.
The matter came to light when the mother of the girl noticed behavioural changes in her. After remaining reluctant initially, the girl told her mother about her trauma, he said.
The woman filed a complaint at Badarpur police station. A team was formed that nabbed the accused from Hathras, he said.
The girl, a Class VII student, was alone at her home when the accused barged into the property and raped her, he said.
The accused lived in the same building where the girl and her family lives.
