Former state finance minister Manik Chand Surana and BJP MLA Vishwanath Meghwal demanded closing down Khajuwala police station and removal of its Deputy Superintendent of Police, with their protest against the recent rape incident entered its third day.
Surana and Meghwal accused the police of colluding with criminals and accused persons and said their protest will only end after the DSP is removed from his position and the Khajuwala police station is shut.
Market in the town was also shut yesterday to protest the incident in which a class 10 student was raped by her school bus driver on April 26. The driver has been arrested.
