The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, presided by Kiran Bansal, passed the order on the complaint of Uttar Pradesh residents Munni Devi and Braham Singh whose son died in the road accident in 2012.
"From the statement of prosecution witness, Munni Devi (mother) and in view of the criminal case record, it is proved that the deceased Rohit sustained fatal injuries in accident which occurred on March 13, 2012, due to rash and negligent driving of offending vehicle...Driven by its driver," the tribunal said, adding that "the petitioner is entitled to a total compensation of Rs 3,75,000."
He was immediately taken to a hospital there and later referred to GTB hospital in Delhi, where he succumbed to injuries during the course of the treatment.
