Tata will lend his expertise to guide and mentor Kalaari portfolio founders, the company said in a statement.
"Ratan Tata is an icon and role model to all entrepreneurs and we are privileged to have his commitment to help our portfolio companies," Kalaari Capital Advisors managing director Vani Kola said.
The company said Tata's personal investment in Snapdeal, Bluestone and Urban Ladder have emerged from its portfolio.
Kalaari Capital has invested in 55 companies since 2006 and has USD 350 million under management with an advisory team in Bengaluru investing in early-stage, technology-oriented start-ups in India.
