BJP today announced Rudra Madhab Ray, who was suspended from BJD and joined the party only yesterday, as its candidate for October 15 bypolls to Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat.
Ray had won the seat as the BJD candidate in 2009. But he was suspended from party for his "anti-party" activities after he was denied ticket in 2014.
The election in Kandhamal has been necessitated due to the death of Hemendra Chandra Singh, who had won the seat in 2014 elections as the BJD candidate.
