Rear Admiral Suresh leaves INA to join IDS headquarters

Indian Naval Academy Deputy Commandant Rear Admiral M D Suresh, who ushered in a paradigm shift in the training methodologies at the premier institute, today relinquished charge on being posted to the integrated defence staff headquarters.
Admiral Suresh, who had served the INA at Ezhimala in neighbouring Kannur District from July 2014 as its Deputy Commandant and also Chief Instructor, will be taking over as Assistant Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff at their Headquarters in Delhi, a release from the academy said.
During his tenure, the academy saw a paradigm shift in the training methodologies and he completely overhauled the process that resulted in overall and wholesome development of cadets, it said.
He was instrumental in implementing higher standards of physical training that resulted in INA winningthe Bakshi Cup 2017, the prestigious annual Inter Services Officers Training Academies sports meet for the very first time.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy at Khadakvasla, the 'Defence Service Staff College' at Wellington in Tamil Nadu and the College of Naval Warfare at Mumbai, Admiral Suresh has 35 years of rich and varied experience in the Indian Navy.
Prior to taking over as the Deputy Commandant of INA, he was the Flag Officer Doctrine and Concepts (FODC) at Headquarters of Western Naval Command, Mumbai.
In recognition of his exceptional service, the Admiral was awarded the "Nao Sena Medal" in 2000 and conferred with "Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM)" during the 69th Republic Day Celebrations last week.
