There has been a five percent reduction in crimes against women in Rajasthan up to May this year compared to the same period last year, state Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said today.
A total of 79,347 wanted criminals were also arrested till May this year by the state police under a special drive, the minister said after a review meeting at the police headquarters here.
Kataria said the drive was aimed at curbing crime in the state.
In the last two years, 2.50 lakh criminals were arrested, he added.
The minister said the police were running public partnership programmes and taking people's help for effective policing and maintaining law and order in the state.
Coordination and contact with people are yielding positive results, Kataria added.
