"Regional writers gave more relevance to the nation in their writings. It helped a lot in keeping the country united," Gopal said at an event organised by the National Book Trust.
He in statement said any literature is incomplete without the sprit of nationalism and claimed that Indians are most influenced by Ramcharitmanas (a book on the life of Lord Rama).
