Remand of arrested fishermen extended to Apr 26

The remand period of the 30 fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on April 5 has been extended to April 26 by a court of the island nation.
The fishermen, lodged in prison in Anuradhapuram, were today produced before Mannar court Magistrate Anthony Pillai Juitson, who extended their remand till April 26, U Arulanandam, Innocent Fishermen's Association President said.
The fishermen are from nearby Thangachimadam village.
